Just These · Last updated 26 September 2026

The short version: Just These collects nothing. It has no account system, no analytics, no advertising, and no networking code of any kind. Your photos leave your device only when you send them yourself, and nothing ever comes to us.

Information we collect

None. Just These has no servers, and we have no way to receive information from your device. We cannot see your photos, your PIN, how often you use the app, or that you have installed it at all.

Photo library access

The app asks for access to your photo library so it can display your own photos for you to choose from, and show the chosen ones in Handover Mode. It never modifies or deletes a photo, and it never uploads one: it has no networking code.

Photos leave your device only when you send them yourself. After a handover, if your guest asked for some of the photos, the app lists them for you and you decide which to send, through your phone's own share sheet (for example AirDrop). Where they go is up to you; they never come to us.

If your guest used "style it" (a crop and a colour look), the app keeps only that recipe, in memory, while you decide. A styled version is a new image made at the moment you send it, in the app's own temporary folder. It carries no location or other metadata, your original is not changed, and the copy is deleted the next time you send photos or open the app.

Your PIN

Your PIN is never stored. Only a salted SHA-256 hash of it is saved in the app's own local storage, which cannot be reversed to recover the PIN. It never leaves your device. If you enable device unlock, Face ID and Touch ID are handled entirely by iOS — the app is only told whether authentication succeeded, and never receives your biometric data or device passcode.

Local storage

The app saves a small amount of data on your device: your PIN hash, its settings (such as whether device unlock and the app lock are on), whether you have seen the tips, whether a handover is in progress (so the app reopens locked), the photos currently selected, and any collections you save. Selections and collections are lists of references to photos already on your device, never the photos themselves. What a guest asks for, and how they styled it, is held in memory only and never saved. Deleting the app removes all of it.

Third parties

There are none. Just These contains no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK, no crash reporter, and no third-party service of any kind. No data is shared or sold, because none is collected.

Children

Just These is suitable for all ages and collects no personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If a future version of the app changes what it accesses, this page will be updated before that version ships, and the date at the top will change.
